A major milestone has been reached in the Hungarian fire remote monitoring market: the fiREG integration into the MONITORINGBOOK platform has been completed. The goal of this collaboration is to provide an automated, electronic fire safety operation log that simultaneously complies with current legal regulations, reduces administrative burdens, and creates a new, predictable revenue stream for remote monitoring service providers.

What Is fiREG, and Why Has It Become Unavoidable?

fiREG is a cloud-based, electronically maintained fire safety operation logging and registry platform built on the requirements of Hungarian fire safety regulations—OTSZ and TvMI. The system offers a modern alternative to paper-based or Excel-managed maintenance and operation logs.

The platform’s purpose is to ensure that mandatory documentation related to fire safety operations is:

  • managed digitally,
  • recorded in a structured manner,
  • auditable and easily retrievable.

Today, fiREG manages data for approximately 1.5 million devices across nearly 60,000 sites in Hungary, serving 9,000 users, including those at the country’s largest enterprises. It is a continuously developed cloud service that has been operating in live production environments for several years, with regulatory compliance as its foundation.

Benefits for End Users

fiREG’s automated fire alarm logging solution provides direct support for fire alarm system operators by:

  • supporting compliance with legal, audit, and insurance requirements,
  • reducing administrative and liability risks,
  • providing authentic, verifiable electronic logging.

The electronic log can be presented to inspection authorities in PDF format in accordance with the applicable OTSZ and TvMI regulations, eliminating issues arising from incomplete or hard-to-retrieve documentation.

Business Value for Remote Monitoring Service Providers

The integration represents a genuine business opportunity for remote monitoring providers. fiREG’s partner model enables:

  • increased customer retention through a legally mandated service,
  • the generation of new, recurring monthly revenues,
  • market differentiation through a high value-added automated solution.

The recommended end-user list price for fire alarm system operators is EUR 100 + VAT / month / monitored system. The guideline revenue split per endpoint is transparent and predictable:

  • Remote monitoring provider revenue: EUR 50 + VAT / month
  • fiREG service fee: EUR 40 + VAT / month
  • MOHAnet remote monitoring software module license: EUR 10 + VAT / month

An important advantage is that the remote monitoring provider can independently define the end-user pricing and sales strategy.

Partner Model – Low Risk, Long-Term Cooperation

fiREG’s automated logging is built on existing fire remote monitoring services and uses data derived from them. The principles of the partnership are clear:

  • customer ownership remains with the remote monitoring provider,
  • fiREG does not establish direct sales channels to partners’ customers,
  • the focus is on long-term, predictable cooperation.

From a management perspective, implementation is particularly favorable: it does not require organizational restructuring, does not entail proportional increases in human resources, and does not negatively impact existing remote monitoring operations.

Technical Background – In Brief

The installed fire alarm control panel is connected via a signal transmission relay interface. Separate relays on the transmitter indicate, among others:

  • fire alarm system 230 V power failure,
  • daily test signal,
  • aggregated fire alarm,
  • aggregated fault.

The daily test runs cyclically, and events remain active until their restoration is logged. Events are automatically transmitted via the remote monitoring center to the fiREG system and appear in the electronic fire safety log of the respective facility.

Executive Summary

The integration of fiREG and MonitoringBook delivers a solution based on regulatory requirements that provides well-plannable, recurring revenue. It carries low business and operational risk, and due to its partner-friendly operation, represents an attractive opportunity for remote monitoring service providers seeking to offer competitive, high value-added services to their customers over the long term.
